Course Summary

The Covid pandemic has boosted the popularity of Zoom. This course will give an overall view of Zoom features and help participants decide if they want to further develop this skillset to freelance as a Zoom facilitator for Zoom presenters who need an extra pair of hands.

Trainer Information

Gina Phan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from York University, Canada, and is a TTT-certified trainer (HRDC, Malaysia). She is a committee member of the International Union of Professional Trainers, Asia Pacific

Among the companies she has conducted training for are Petronas, Shell, Intel, Kossan, CIMB, DHL, MRT Corp, DHL, NCR, Unisem, Blackmores, and Herriot Watt University Malaysia.

She is passionate about helping people succeed in the workplace. Her communication and leadership skills were pivotal to her success as managing director of an international software company for 20 years before she became a full-time trainer.

Her other interest is women empowerment and she is the secretary of the International Women's Federation of Commerce and Industry - Malaysia.

Lemuel Yee is a senior consultant of Keep Sounding Consultants, an educator, and a pastor.

His various roles, combined with his passion for audio-visual technology, keep him updated on the sound and digital industry.

Lemuel has a wide network of professional sound engineers who have lent their expertise to churches during the pandemic when it was necessary for them to master Zoom services, livestreaming, and webinars.

Meet our panel speakers

Linda Mak Lai Poh advocates self-love and financial independence—painful lessons from a failed marriage. She also struggled with debts as she ventured into business to support her two children.

She knows first-hand the tension of being both a provider and nurturer. Now that she has found emotional and financial stability, she is even more passionate about women's empowerment.

Linda is the founder of POSIMIND and the Women Power Society. She plays a leadership role in Soka Gakka Malaysia and was a pioneering member of the BNI Integrity Chapter.

Born and bred in Klang, Linda has a degree in Communication and a post-graduate diploma in business administration. A former teacher and HR personnel, she is now working in the insurance industry.

Charis Liew took a seven-year career break to accompany her husband when he was posted to Vietnam and, then, to Thailand.

A computer engineering graduate, Charis leveraged her banking experience to venture into home entrepreneurship in e-commerce while she was a full-time mother.

However, she contacted former colleagues to keep abreast of developments in the foreign bank she had worked with.

She re-joined the bank upon returning to Malaysia where she enjoys strong family support.

Although her career comeback was tough, Charis persevered and is now promoted to the senior vice president of sales after five years.

Catherine Chen has proven the effectiveness of remote work in her career. In China, her home country, she worked with a remote team of more than 200 managers in the IT industry.
They promoted the People Capacity Maturity Model (PCMM), a human capital enrichment framework developed by the US Department of Defence. PCMM incorporates the best practices of people management across industries.

Later, her company sent her to join the Mergers & Acquisition team during overseas business expansion. She worked remotely with the management in Finland, Romania, Germany, the US, and the Middle East.

Catherine is an OKRs (Objective & Key Results) coach and she helps organisations build alignment within the company, including remote working environment so that everyone works in the same direction to achieve company goals.

Esther Anandaraj started her legal practice in 2012 and teamed up with a to set up a Labuan trust company in 2018.

She specializes in technology law as she also holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science (Software Engineering).

To enjoy motherhood, Esther embraced remote work for two years and returned to the office full-time in 2019.

The pandemic has given her further practice in work-life balance as she manages the staff’s training schedules and shuttles between her Kuala Lumpur and Labuan offices.

Having tasted job flexibility, Esther is open to engaging remote workers who demonstrate commitment and productivity.

It’s scary to dive from a corporate platform into the unknown red or blue ocean of freelancing. But Rathikala Ramachandran (Rathi Ram) has no regrets.

“The career switch gives me more time to spend with my eight-year-old son who is on the spectrum. In just a few months, I can see his fantastic progress.

“I wish I had done it earlier. Better late than never, right?” asks Rathi who is now a freelance corporate trainer.

Her forte is sales and leadership with the underlying theme of empowering mindset shifts.

Rathi will give a FREE online talk on “Stop Sabotaging Yourself!” to boost the confidence of those who need to make hard decisions.
